As Milan is only about 30 miles away from the town of Como, most flights to the area are serviced out of one of Milan’s airports. Therefore, you will be able to fly out of most major airport in the UK. There are multiple web sites that offer great deals on flights to Milan, so you can oftentimes find a cheap flight. Airlines that offer flights from the UK to Milan include Ryanair, Easy Jet, Jet2, Air One, Alitalia, and British Airways. There are three different airports in Milan that you can fly to from the UK: Linate, Bergamo, and Malpensa.

Once you’ve arrived in Milan, there are multiple options to get from this major city to the picturesque lake. The lake town Como lies on the Switzerland to Milan train line. There is also the Ferrovia Nord Milano, which runs directly between Milan and Como. From Malpensa, you have the option of taking the Malpensa express train to Sarrono, where you would change trains and travel to Como directly. If you arrive at Linate or Bergamo, you can take a shuttle bus to Milan Central Station. From the central station, you can take a train to Como, which has an approximate travel time of 40 minutes. If you plan to rent a car to travel from and to the airport, the shortest driving time would be from Milan’s Malpensa airport, with an approximate driving time of 45 minutes. Milan’s other two airports, Linate and Bergamo, will take about the same time, with an approximate travel time of one hour and twenty minutes.
